It can be traumatic and upsetting to experience sudden, intense tooth pain or to lose a tooth in an accident. In addition to the emotional and physical pain you may be feeling, you now have to find an emergency dentist in Westchase who can see you the same day.
This scenario has been played out numerous times by the team at The Dental Boutique at Westchase. In the unfortunate event that you require an emergency dentist in Westchase or Tampa, we are happy to help!
What Constitutes a Dental Emergency?
The majority of the emergencies we see fall into one of three categories:
Are you unable to eat? Do you have a chipped front tooth that makes it too embarrassing to go to work or school? You need an emergency dentist who can see you the same day if possible.
Sharp or broken teeth, gum swelling, pain, and hypersensitivity are some of the most common emergencies we see at our office. Soft tissue lesions, such as ulcers under a denture, abscessed teeth, or other traumatic injuries, are also common reasons to need an emergency dentist.

Is it possible to receive treatment on the day? Typically, yes. We will always work you into our schedule as soon as possible.
Typically, any same-day treatment will be focused on alleviating your pain or discomfort. It may be an interim therapy such as a temporary filling or pain reliever to tide you over until we can have you back for a permanent treatment (such as a crown or root canal). Sometimes antibiotics can also be useful, particularly if swelling or infection are involved.
After you’re finally out of pain, we’ll discuss the next steps to preserve your smile.
If you have a dental emergency, call our office to schedule an appointment. We’ll do our best to see you as soon as possible.
